Default Ok, who has the top down in the cold weather?

Everyone keeps whining about how it is too cold to drive their S, but I went out today and had a 2 hour top-down Vtec session with the temp hovering around 28*. It really does not get cold. Wear some gloves and turn the top vents on to 2 or 3 bars of heat and you are good. I never had to put on my hat or turn the heat up any higher.

Anyone else go for a drive with the top down?

I've driven my car many time in below freezing weather with the top down with no consequences for the top that I can see.

Problem here now is not the cold, but all of the salt on the roads. I will not drive my S through that stuff.

Drove it yesterday for about 3 hours with the top down. It wasn't as cold as some other folks have replied, but if the suns shining put the top down! My cheeks were nice and red - that's the cheeks on my face. Have fun!

No driving with salt in NJ...looks like roads won't clear 'til spring. :-(

if the roads are dry, the salt won't do anything. its only bad when the salt is wet and sticks to the car.

Personally, I have never had the top down below 50*F. As for myself, I would not lower the top below 40*F. I wouldn't think that the vinyl would be as pliable at this temp. Maybe no big deal, but I don't want to risk weakening the vinyl and damage showing up after some time has passed. I plan on keeping mine for several years. I can understand the temptation in colder climates, but where I live most days the high temp is above 50*F.

I've had mine down in 20-30 degree F weather. Damned cold but the car was new and I wanted to experience the top down factor.

It's down right now. Of course, the hard top is installed...

40 degree F is probably my lower limit. Heater on, top down, windows up, and my skull cap on covering my ears.
