Default Omg

So, on monday morning at about 4am my MY04 s2k gets jacked on front of my #!#@# house. They cut the top to get into it. They got the seats, headlights, hid's, shift knob. They don't even have the respect to un-clip the bulb harnesses, they CUT em for the headlights and the taillights. Luckily my uncle decided to go out for a smoke at that time and chased them away before they had time to take anything else.

Sucks ass, only 2000 miles on it

Right now it with the police dusting for prints.

So, my question is, do you think my insurance (AAA) will total it out, or will it be repaired? I figure the repairs will be close to $13,000 with labor (correct me if I am wrong) ?

I'm hoping they total it out.....

Any feedback would be appriciated.

Also if anyone is selling any MY04 s2k stuff in the bay area let me know.

Thanks, ed

No way they're going to total out a $30,000 car for $13,000 in cosmetic damage.

Not to sound like an ass but I highly doubt they'll dust for prints over auto theft. Sorry to hear about your car. Hopefully insurance will cover everything and you can use it to buy some Bride seats, ARC ti shiftknob, hardtop and MY04 headlights.

He's right. They'll probably cut you a check. Now you can start looking for jdm headlights and maybe some mugen buckets. It sucks to have your car broken into, but look at the bright side. Quality jdm is still usually cheaper than brand new dealer price stock parts.

I think I read somewhere most insurance companies will only "write off" a vehicle if the insurance costs exceed 85% of the value it is insured for

eg car insured for $30000...will be totalled if cost of repairs exceed $25500.

Sorry to hear about that, I will suggest that S2000 seats are VERY expensive. Add the cost of a new top, lights etc. I think he's closer to totaling it out than it appears on the surface. Sitll I say it will be close, but not quite totalled.
