Default OMG: I VTEC'ed befroe 600mi!

It's true, I just couldn't wait. I was driving on some back roads this weekend being VERY good, and as the miles were ticking off it was getting late, so I started to head for home. As I was leaving the last small town before heading back into "civilization," I came to a stop sign. (Actually this was just the other side of town, so I was completely clear of anyone.) The guy in front of me turned off, and the way ahead was completely clear. I knew this would be my last good chance on this trip, so I went all the way to 8500 in 1st and 2nd. When I launched the odo read exactly 599.

OK, I know it's a goofy story, but it is 100% true. I just couldn't hold it in anymore. I have to say: "Hot DAMN! That was fun as all hell!" Being "patient" for those first 600mi (er 599) was REALLY hard, but well worth the wait. What an AWESOME car!

ruexp67 - You better delete this thread! If those Honda warranty lurkers find out you VTEC'd at 599, they'll deny all of your claims!

Happy VTEC'n!

Hehe, get a cold air intake and you will think your current VTEC is lame.

Have fun!

i've read several posts where the dealer refused to cover damages because of driver abuse. i would be willing to bet they can download information about the car.. i.e. rpm's at certain mileages, rpm's at certain speeds etc.

even on old engines, some manufacturers install pop off valves that change postition if u hit a certain rpm. any honda techs out there know if this information can be accessed with the car's computer?

How many threads does this make now where you have said the exact same thing? Once someone is at 600 miles already do you think they care to hear about the "moto-tune" recommended break-in? Why is it that people always have to point out how different they are instead of being happy just being different?
