Default One good reason for NOT driving your S2000 this winter.

One good reason for not driving your S2000 this winter? How about too much of a good thing. I think a 10 week hiatus from your "baby" just may keep you from getting a little jaded and taking it for granted. This is especially true if your winter beater is a slick handling 92 Mazda MPV equipped with Blizzaks.I've always owned cars that were ill equipped to deal with winter snows and have put them into semi- retirement each December. Only poking their noses out from under their covers occasionally like a groundhog looking for his shadow. When you take your "S" out for the first time in weeks sometime in March or maybe as late as April you'll be filled with new enthusiasm for it. A 10-12 week period of no V-tec will have you chomping at the bit to get back into it. Granted you can equip her with LM22's and weather most winter storms but that seems tantamount to fitting Seattle Slew with a plow to till your garden.

I like having some Blizzaks on mine so, if I have the urge, I can take it out and skid around the snow.
Just for pleasure.
For transportation, my '93 Prelude VTEC gets me through the snow.

I love washing it, polishing it, vacuuming it and seeing it in winter AND if I have the urge, driving it in snow.

The owners manual states you should run the A/C for a minimum of 10 minutes at least once a week. And it's not good to idle the car without being driven. Therefore, I plan to take it for a spin whenever I get a chance and not store it completely. But only when it's above freezing, and can stay clean.

Around here, that period would be closer to 4 or 5 months or more. I've had mine for over a year now, and I still appreciate it just fine, thank you.

Besides, it's fun to see just how sharp a turn you can take with a little throttle oversteer the easy way - on snow!

10 weeks is too long. There usually are a few nice, dry days in January, February and March. I need to take my S out every so often so that I don't start to think that everything drives like my beater. I need to drive it every now and again, even in the winter.

Same goes for here. It is not even winter yet and I can't wait for spring/no salt.

I don't know about anyone else, but my S2000 is a car, not a baby or a toy. It's the way that I get to work everyday and back home again. I happen to think that it's a very special car and it gets special treatment, but in the end, it's still a car.

It now has snow tires on it and it goes through the snow as well as, or better than any other car that I have owned.

I enjoy driving it every day, especially in the snow.
