Unhappy One has to be better than the other?

alright, so i've read that these two companies work closely together
to develop their own respective coilover systems...

anyone know what would make one set up better than the other:
h&r coilovers vs bilstein pss9

any info would be cool thanks!

IIRC you can't adjust the dampening on the H&R's. If anything they're more comparable to the PSS than the PSS9.

I did a quick search and found that H&R uses Bilstein dampers, but uses their own springs.

EDIT: I had the damn link to the thread just a second ago

Double EDIT: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...dpost&p=1430333

Got it.

Anyway, you can find the PSS9's for just about the same price as the H&R. So i'd definitely go with those.

Searching for suspension on the s2k is such a pain in the ass. So many options, never enough money.

I was in the exact same boat (and price range) as you man, but after a year of research (yes, a whole damn year) I've finally decided that the PSS9 is the best bang for buck and worth spending the extra couple hundred for.

I have PSS, they are nice in that they are inexpensive and ride height adjustable - and do not lessen handling like springs on oem shocks would. I'd like them to be a bit stiffer though (I like a STIFF ride).

If you're on a budget, the PSS really are a nice, product - slightly stiffer than stock and offer nice performance. However, if you have the cash, I'd go with the PSS9. When my PSS start going - I will be going with the PSS9. HTH

From my pretty extensive experience with E46 M3 suspension (Ive installed more than a dozen), IMHO, and ONLY IMHO, H&R makes the worst suspension I have ever seen.

Any particular reason? What do you think about Bilsteins?

I have the H&R's on my S and love them. I didn't need to have a million different setting options. They're top quality and feel good. Unless you track your car every weekend stay with something simple. I can't speak for the PSS's because I have no experience with them, but H&R was the set up to buy in the VW/Audi world.
