Hey, has any of you guys had a burned out headlight yet? I have had the car for less than 48 hours and my passenger headlight is already out. What gives?

 

I just got mine...no problems with the headlights...they are great. I'm wondering how long these HID (xenon?) bulbs last myself...

 

One time when I turned on the headlight, only one of them turned on??? I quickly turned it off, waited 30 sec and tried again...everything was fine....strange...

 

Sounds like a warranty issue! =) I think Honda should replace it free of charge!

 

ITR, I just tried turning on the headlights again...it works now. That was really weird though. Thanks!

 

are they 30% xenon gas? like BMW's and other cars?

 

I read somewhere because it's a gas charged bulb, they last 'should' last longer than the life of the car because there is no filament to burn out. The bulb going out on me happened once to me also..I turned on my lights and poof, the drivers side goes out..I though it had blown or something but i just switched it off and on again and it worked fine..

 

There are many of us who have had one headlight go out for awhile. There was a lengthy discussion about this a year ago without any real conclusions other than the fact that it always comes back on.

 

I'm pretty sure that these lights have a "ballast" transformer that starts the light. fluorescent lights in office buildings have a similar setup. Every once in a while one of the lights won't start up on the first try...I think that's what might be happening here

 

If the clearance is off a hair you might lose the arc in one of the lights, turning it off and back on should restore it. It has been reported than these lights have many times the life of conventional bulbs.
