One Helluva Day!
First off, hello to all of you fello S2K afectionado's!
I left my civilian job (can you tell where else I work???) around 3:00 pm. I had to get to the bank to transfer some money to the ex-wife. As I was leaving the bank, I got a call from the Honda dealership saying that my front license plate plugs were ready. I picked up a pair for my mom's o4' triple black and my 04' Blue/Blue/Black. They were a little expensive for what you get, but the end result is beautiful!
So here is my story:
I walked out of the dealership with the plugs in one hand and the wheel locks in the other. I opened up the Blue plugs and started installing the drivers-side plug. Perfect fit! So, I went to the next side. As I inserted the plug, the damn bolt bracket, inside of the nose, fell off! I knew that this was not going to be my day for mods. I grabbed an innocent sevice engineer to come and appraise my situation. He looked around...felt around...and finally told me to make an appointment with the service department, because the entire front end was going to have to come off.
Being the highly motivated, down-right dedicated soldier that I am, I said "No thanks, I can do it myself."
Well, untill three hours ago, I had never done anything to any of my cars body panel's,bumpers...ect. I have one installed exhaust and CAI's.
I drove the 6 miles to my home and got my tools. As soon as I popped the hood, the sky in Laurel, Maryland filled with black demise!
Buckets of water poured on me and my baby. So I put the top up ASAP!, and I parked her in my covered spot. The sun was so nice before, I didn't think to stay out of the sun for the fix.
After looking at the entire front end and realizing that if I stressed any one portion of the plyable front-end, I was going to end up having rhinoplasty on my S2K!
I was able to un-screw and pop off the front. I was scared to death. After all, would you be too if it was your first time and you cherished the hell out of your new car?
I was able to snap the female bolt receiver back into place, while inserting the plug while the front-end was free.
I have a lot of admiration for those of you out there that do this sort of thing routinely! It wasn't tough, it was just a little scarey doing something that I was use to seeing the "professionals" do. Ha! I called the dealership and asked for a qoute on parts and labor for the job that I had just completed. They gave me a qoute for a couple hundered of dollars, (parts&labor). I hung up the phone, gazed at my blue mistress, and smiled my ass off!
I am now officially a member of the S2KI club. What a way to be initiated?!?!?!?!?!
Thanks for reading.

To Everyone:
Thank you for the warm invite. I like this club. For the most part, everyone is humble and understands enough about their vehicle(s) to help aid others, like Me, to better their experiance with their S2000.
As for serving my country...I will never regret what I have done and what I have had to sacrifice to wear my uniform. I have earned it, time and time again. It is nice to hear a thank you everyonce and a while. Not everyone agrees with what is happening over "there,"
but the majority of the world wants the same for them and everyone else: Freedom & Peace. Enough said!
I will be sure to keep you all up-dated as more of my mod. parts come in the mail. I cannot wait to install this weekend!
Have a good one, and don't forget to call your or someone elses mother this Sunday
