It's a slow night, so lets fire things up.

I can see the flames coming but I've been reflecting on a visit I made to Honda's web site in Japan tonight. In the intro for the S2000 they show a "lime green metallic" S2000 and a "imora orange pearl" S2000. Maybe it's my age or my conservatism, but I just can't imagine a top-of-the-line-sports-car-manufacturer like __________ (you can fill in the name) producing a quality sports car in those colors.

And let's add Porsche to the list. Anybody remember that nasty lime green color circa 1972. My roommate has a '57 beetle painted that god-awful color.

Um, weird colors?

Bentleys ($275,000) come in a color called Wildberry (which is a mix of purple, red, and orange).

Ok, you want sport cars?

Lamborghinis come in straight Purple...if you like, they come in metallic Gold too.

Aston Martins (no newcomer to racing) come in Lime Green.

Come to think of it, Lamborghinis come in a bright Orange as well.

Finally, if you truly believe Honda gets no respect (says who?) because their S2000 comes in two funky colors, then that's just ridiculous, IMHO.

I must admit that the iridescent orange and purple colors that TVR offers are much nicer looking than Honda's, but still Honda's version is not totally awful... Their green is pretty bad though.

You should have heard the heat BMW received for introducing the new US M3 in Laguna Seca Blue (aka smurf blue...). In fact the Bimmer boards where full of complaining about the crappy color choices.

...and Porsche's new Orient Red is a fairly hideous shade of orange.

I would have mad respect for the S2000 even if I was driving a modded S4 right now.

bold colors are hinted in the market to make the car stand out a bit more, I wouldn't be surprised if these colors become more mainstream in the next five years due to their uniqueness.

some other red owners might agree, even though I love my red/black s2k, red is a dated color - and its everywhere.
