So any highperformance car that crashes on a twisty road is 100% going to be the driver's fault? If that was my car, I wouldn't want the insurance company to get a hold of that footage either, less evidence they have to screw me the better in my book.

Any accident that involves only a single vehicle is always considered 100% the driver's fault according to the insurance companies.

Correct. All accidents are the fault of one or more drivers. Cars don't have accidents by themselves. When there is only one driver involved then that driver is at fault regardless if he spun out and went in the ditch or backed in looking for a place to pee.

This video is posted on a publicy available website, and I don't appreciate being told (by StormBringer and jzr) what I can and can't look at on the web, thanks.

I suggest that the folks who crashed their car ask the owner of that site to remove the video rather than ordering us not to look at it. Next time, they should find some way to crash in private, if that's possible.

PS: Here's some of the analysis you also said we shouldn't do. The video is totally inconclusive. You can't tell why the crash occurred, nor can you even identify the car that crashed (although there are some stills that might support identification).

BTW, the more you tell people not too look at it, the more they are going to want to. As of now, it's still out on a publically available site, being downloaded dozens more times everytime someone says "don't post it". The damage has already been done.

Sorry Tox, I wasn't suggesting folks cover their eyes, since I would want to see it as well. Rather I was hoping the webmaster could temporarily remove the page until the owner of the car involved was ready to share it with the world. It's possible that may already be the case, and I'm doing this for nothing. Perhaps the individual that was in the driver's seat could speak up on the matter?

I don't know why I try..

The reason that I am so adament about it being removed is that untll all legal ramifications have been hammered out it is best that it is not seen. Also it is a personal request not a order, I feel that the individual in a accident should step forward first and not another observer.

The link should not be forced to be taken down. While the accident was unfortunate, there was no expectation of privacy out in public like that. If the host of the website is willing to remove the photos and movie, out of respect for the victim's, fine, but don't ask people to remove links.

As far as I understood it, there WAS an expectation of privacy, since the only people who could have taken a video and pics were in our group and as far as I know they were all made aware of the expectation of privacy.
