Question Only an owner for 10 days! sad

How do i start? I have been waiting and saving for a long time to buy this car as my fun weekend car. My wedding jsut passed this september and when we got back from honeymoon and settled in i started looking. Checked out a few and found a mint 01 black on red with only 26k. Picked up a comptech intake form "revhi (member)" this saturday and installed it, went for drive and put car to bed.
Sunday morning:
Woke up around 830, i play in a football league and had a game at 930. did the morning dutie, got dressed etc. headed out, nice day, lets take the s.

I am only going 6-7 miles away. Hope on highway to get off one exit away. merge on and pass one car and getting ready to get back into right lane when i see the lexus suv in front of me swerve a little. I am now in the middle of both lanes getting over to right and i see it. IT was some sort of metal cabinet and it was coming up fast and i was going to hit it. Hold on tight, BANG BANG BANG. felt like shotgun going off in car and then i lost control car due to this object. ( i found out it flew up and the suburban i just passed and craked her windshield). I was then sliding sideways down the hwy at probaly 55-65 mph ( was going 65 when i hit the cabinet). I proceeded to slide off towards teh shoulder and took out a big traffic sign. I sheered the post off the ground only leavign small "nipples" protruding from the earth. The only left to hit was the embankment which caused the car tho flip side over side multiple times(about 60 feet of broken landscape) before coming to rest on the roof. I gathered my bearings and took the mind to make sure i wasnt dreaming. It really felt like i went for a ride at disney. i just held on in shock. Once i gathered my toughts i tried to open teh door while still hanging upside down by the seatbelt. Teh door opened with a pop. I then did my best unhook the seatbelt while flipping your body move i could and exited the vehicle. I then gathered my belongings (phone, wallet, car charger--dont ask me why) etc. and walked back toward the hwy. The lady who was behind me in teh sub. was shocked to say the least i was walking away from it and no one was dead. YOu could hear it in her voice as she talked to 911. Soon the cops, ambulance, fire truck, etc. were all arriving and all were shocked too. Here i was with nothing wrong except a paper cut on my finger. I felt like teh scene in "gone in 60 seconds"...." are you sure youre ok becasue you just went through a wall!?" except it was are you sure you are ok because you just fliped side over side for 20 yards?! i was fine. I had called my wife(at work) and mom(lives close) in mean time to have them come be with me. MY wife then took me back to her work (hospital) to get a quick check to be sure everythign was fine. My mom called the sub. lady and teh lady stated she just cried for atleast an hour after witnessing this crash and seeing me come out unharmed.

Thank you to honda for making this car so safe. The roof crushed to the roll bars, teh doors only caved to the cockpit? and the windshield held up enough not to crash in on me..... I hope to have another one soon as it has always been a dream to own one. But i have to wait a little as i am still a little shook up but i know i must have had an angel on my shoulder that day. I will continue to hang out here if you guys dont mind until i get another one.

And to think, weekend one, change all fluids (trans, oil, diff) clean up a little. Weekend two, install comptech intake and then this. I am so upset i couldnt enjoy it more. Here are the pics.

Damn. Sorry to see your car in this shape

Glad you're okay though. It still amazes me that a person can walk away relatively uninjured in an accident of this magnitude. To Honda for building a rock solid roadster.

wow I am so sorry to hear that. I sure wish they would make highways safer from debris like that. Mainly they should not let anyone drive with a exposed item so it has no chance to fall of the truck.

Man....I am so glad that you are ok.

Materials can be fixed or bought again. But you live only once.
Thank God.

wowsers....sorry about the car but very glad that you came out okay. based on the severity of the accident, it might be still good to visit a doctor just to make sure everything is okay....some injuries might not manifest itself until months or years later. best of luck in your search for another S.

You must have missed the "Metal Cabinet Crossing" sign as you were passing the SUV

I'm glad your ok though! My friend nosed his 01 into a tree at 70mph and walked away with only scratches on his face from the airbag. I'm confident that these cars are remarkably safe. Go take the insurance and get yourself another one. Try to keep it longer than 10 days though

THe lexus didnt cause it but no he didnt stop, he might not have even known that it happened.

also i did go to hospital to get some checks. no blood in urine, vitals, etc. no xrays necc b/c i never lost consiousness(sp?) or had any kind of head injury. The seatbelt held me like a roller coaster ride. Nice and tight through the turns
