Default Opinions on this possible trade for an s2000

Hello s2ki! I don't own an s2000 yet, but I want to change that! So here is the deal I am considering.

I am going to trade my Turbo RSX for an 01 ap1.

Now here comes the s2k craigslist ad,

http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1313153845.html

The ad seems a little weird to me as well - appears to be a J's racing exhaust? whats up with that? Here is the big problem, I checked the VIN and found out it's a salvage car with a clean title - what?

Detailed History

Owner 1

Est. miles/year: ---
Est. length owned: 11/13/00 - 12/21/01

The current owner has a clean Ohio title. He said he didn't know about any of this, and I have seen the title - it's clean. Honda inspected it and said it was all good. I am leaning towards saying no to this deal, I would like to get rid of my RSX though because I want to start road racing and it simply won't achieve my goals.

Opinions?

Yeah that's where I think this deal is going, I suppose posting this on s2ki means that other cars are not an option haha.

I'll tell you why it's "clean." When you buy a car that's salvaged and you take it to another state (some states) , they issue you a clean title if it's rebuilt.

That's why some people buy from different states.

But hey, be VERY patient. I'm tellin you, it will def. pay off iA. I almost bought this BEAUTIFUL white AP1 w/ gold rims...but it was salvaged....now I'm in love with my NFR AP1....clean title

Don't buy an S2000 that has ever been in a wreck. the chasis is so rigid it's impossible to fix frame damage and have the car back to what it was rolling off the line.

Also 2002-2003 are better years...they had glass rear windows, updated engine, updated interior, better stereo speakers, etc. You can get one with under 50K miles for $12,000....you should sell your RSX yourself and then find an S2000...borrow someone's beater car for a few weeks if need be till you find your S2000.

Exactly....most poeple would consider this a dishonest attempt to conceal a salvage title. And I wouldn't want to buy a car that was repaired by someone who was dishonest - what other corners did they try to cut to increase their profit?
