Default Opinions wanted: 7/8 versus full size windscreen

Can anyone who has tried these out comment on the relative effectiveness to block the back wind for taller people? Is the full size much better than the 7/8? I'd rather get the 7/8, but only if it is only marginally less effective.

Did a search, didn't find any real useful comparisons between the two.

Thanks all for your help.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect the difference isn't perceivable.

It seems like I read a thread some time ago that described the top hitting the full size windscreen when raised and lowered. I'd be cautious.

7/8 will allow you to still drop your roof.
Full size must be folded down before lowering roof.

Muz,
DO NOT put top up or down with windscreen folded. You WILL break windscreen. You must leave windscreen in upright position to raise or lower top.

Full high will hit window with top up as you fold back and you must use your fingers as a cushion between them. 7/8 will fold down without touching window.

I agee with William: my full height windscreen is fine lowering the top with the windscreen up. I do have to guide the windscreen with my fingers if I lower the windscreen with the top up. I've never had the guts to raise/lower the top with the windscreen laid back.

Oops ... you are indeed correct. (I knew there was some caveat with the full screen.) My powers of recall have obviously failed me in this instance.

I have the full version and if I had to do it again, I would go with the 7/8 only because it can be folded down without worry of it hitting the plastic rear window. With the full, as already said, you must keep your fingers between the screen and the window. I did a "study" a long time ago on various cabin turbulence mods and found that the full screen was only "marginally" better than the stock screen so the 7/8 one won't be any worse or better. I think the best option is if these screens could come drilled full of holes (1/8"). There is less bufffeting when trying to "control" the wind than there is when trying to "stop" it. My "bug mesh" experiment proved this.

Hey, Rob how tall are you? I think we are about the same height. I think our problem is that we are too tall...I don't think either will help you. I bet most of the wind you feel is coming over the windshield.

Yes, Marco, but I hope to fix that with the seat mod. But I get headaches and stuff from the wind constantly lashing my neck and back of my head too.

I think the 7/8 and the MH headrest blockers may help somewhat, but the seat mod is the real thing that will help all around.

P.S. I have a glass rear window so the folding issue doesn't really apply, or does it?
