I'd get an auto-electrician to do the work if I wasn't doing it myself. Print out pictures of your preferred set up and it will make it easier for them.

How do the truck horns sound.. I was interested in doing a setup on the s2k. My friend told me that he heard some guy get some at a junkyard off a rig. Either way, what hella, fiamm, or wolo do you guys recommend or have used which are good. Do you think a truck horn on a s would sound wierd. I did see the triple horn setup the other s2k member did and that would be the other route i go.

Do the air horns take a second to spool up, or do you get an instant sound?

If you install a Greddy airhorn BOV it'll help with the spool up time in between honks!

j/k

They should be setup to work immediately. A horn is not worth much if you have to wait for it to sound! I think the compressors have a small reserve tank for that purpose.

Thanks. A buddy of mine got some air horns one time and said that it took a little while for the compressor to get the air moving fast enough to get the horns to sound. I think that he got a really cheap set from Kmart. So I was thinking "What's the point?" These hellas and fiamms would be worth it though.

i used a 100 watt Whelen PA/Airhorn setup in my GSR. Sounded like a firetruck when I honked. I loved it! I could be driving and just see people walking and I'd honk it and they'd jump off the sidewalk and into ditches sometimes even. Also having the PA setup with it let me talk on a mic to people out on the road Same stregnth PA as most police cars haha

I'll be taking that setup out of my old GSR soon and installing it into the S within the next week or two.

I had triple air horns in my car up until last week. They definitely solve the cheesy horn sound.
