Its a pretty quick car... well anyways a celicas wants to race us so we both punch it ( my friend driving...my S2K was quietly resting at home) and of course were smoking this Celica... so as we cross the interestion at 120 mph! a cop is watching about to make a left behind us... the cop peels out and comes after us.. i look over at my friend and itstead of slamming on the brakes he mashes the pedal in and slams on the brake arounda

S2Kmotorsports don't listen to everyone. You have to remember that most S2K owners here are much older than we are and are at a much different mind set than younger owners. Most older S2K owners SEEM to think like this with the posts they put up. Speed = Danger, Racing = Danger, Taking a Risk = Danger, Having fun = Danger. Burning Out = Danger. They do not see these things as fun anymore because they have to much risk in them. Which is actually really wierd. We have more to lose when we are younger than when we are older. The only good post i saw on this your thread was no matter how fast your car is, the radio is ALWAYS quicker. I don't think any car can go 9359573957324 MPH or whatever, that a radio can. If you want to run from the cops, go ahead and do it. But it's not a very smart thing to do cause most likely you will get caught sooner or later. Have fun with the car, Speed,Burn Out,Take turn fast. Just remember the consequence. For example, If you take a turn fast, the POSSIBLE consequence of doing so is that you might lose your tail and in the worst possible scenario, kill yourself and minivan full of nuns. If you are Ok with this possibility, congrads, you have alot more balls than most of us here. The way most people can do those things i listed above is by NOT thinking of the consequence. IF each time you hit 120 mph on a public road and though to yourself that a car could pull up anytime infront of you and kill you. I do not think you would take that risk anymore. The only way you would do it again is if you do not think about the danger involved. And this is something that the young S2K owners do not have the ability. We just see something that is FUN but could be slightly dangerous. The older S2K owner see something as Dangerous first with a possibility of being fun. Which ever way you want to think is up to you.
Hmm... not a smart thing to do. Haveing said that... I did outrun the cops by accident. Was on my way back from Austin, 120mph+ had my radar detector on... it didnt go off. Friend in the passanger seat, said to me COP... going that speed you don't always hear what people are saying to you. I said what? He said.. that was a cop back there on the side of the road... he pulled out with his lights on. I looked in the rear view mirror... didn't see anything. Of course I was allready up over a hill and didn't dare step on the brakes!!! (sure sign of you doing something wrong). I just let off the gas and let it slow down, all the time looking in my rear view mirror for the cop to catch up. Never did see him. Scared the $hit out of me though. Needless to say, I learned my lesson... High speed is for the track, where you can't get a ticket, and it is in a controlled environment.
I have only had one ticket in my stook, for exhibition of acceleration. It was a totally trumped up charge. The road had a lot of loose gravel on it. When I started out, the tires spun a bit. Cop pulled me over and started writting the ticket. I tried to explaing that there was loose gravel and the tires slipped. (adding that I didn't really know how to drive a stick shift and was still learning). He just kept on filling the ticket out. In the end, I just paid the ticket. Wasn't worth the hassle of showing up to court.

hmm...i drive my car hard and fast all the time...within reason. I don't go bombing down a street at 60+ with driveways on both sides..i dont want to kill children...call me old if you want too..i'm 24. I don't run away from cops...I don't wanna become bubba's bitch in jail...call me old if you want to. I do drive over the speed limit on a daily basis. I am always at 5-10 over...and sometimes...where i know it is safer...and have very little chance of getting a ticket...i go 50+mph over the speed limit...read triple digits!!
We all take risks, but at least try to minimize them.
