"Over the left shoulder" rattle
I've become obsessive-compulsive in regard to eliminating the persistant buzzing rattle that is coming from over my left shoulder when the top is up.
I've ruled out all of the aforementioned possible sources of the rattle (seat belts, seat reclined too far, lubricant on windows and seals) and am now 95% confident that it is coming from the plastic clamp that holds the cable running up to the rear window defroster.
It's very difficult to get your hands back to the clamp and still be able to see what you're doing. By imitating a pretzel, I've been able to hold my finger on the clamp and eliminate the buzzing that was otherwise evident when I revved the engine.
The clamp is a simple plastic affair that's monted in a hole in the back wall of the compartment into which the roof retracks. The clamp doesn't mount snuggly in the hole. It's loose and can be rotated.
Assuming that I've found the culprit, I'm looking for creative suggestions on how to secure the clamp and thus dampen out its ability to buzz.

I have the same rattle but it doesn't bother me much since I rarely have the top up. It is the only "flaw" in my S so far and I have 5k miles. Hopefully someone has the answer for us on how to fix it....
I actually have the opposite problem. My rattle happens only when the window is down (the top can be up or down).
My car came from the factory with a misadjusted driver's door latch. It doesn't feel latched like the passenger's door. There's no resistance when you open the door from inside or outside.
So I am convinced my rattle comes from a loose door. I can stop the rattle by grabbing the door handle and pulling in or by rolling up the window (which I think stabilizes the door against the rubber gaskets on the top).
Anyway, it drives me crazy and I am gonna try to get a dealer to fix it.

I have the same noise. Top up or down, window up or down the noise is there until I hold the door handle. It's ok with the top down since I don't hear it as much but once the top is up, it drives me crazy!
Ha, this is kinda funny. I just noticed this several days ago on my driver's door. It's a slight little buzz from the door panel not being too tightly secured. Mine isn't a really loud one but you can hear it without the radio on. I can deal with it but I might take it to the dealer and have it tightened. The car is only 2 weeks old! Hell, that's what warranties are for.
I had a noise in the left rear and after much investigation it turned out to be a loose or bad bushing on the upper left rear control arm. They backordered a new one - said that it appeared many were on backorder across the country.
In the meantime, they made sure all the suspension mounts were tight and put grease on the offending bushing. The grease solved the noise problem, but the backordered control arm is in so I will have that installed anyway.
By the way the noise was much more noticeable when the top was up, but close observation (listening) revealed that it made noise all the time, just less ambient noise when top was up...
