Over reving question--
I've read so many horror stories about this topic. I accidentally did it today, 1st time ever. Should I be concerned? My car only has 2400 miles.
Thanks,
Jay

Nope, my friend and I were switching off driving each others cars. He has a MY00 I have a MY04.
When I got back to driving my car, for some reason I still thought that I had 9000 rpm capability. I was on 2nd just kept stepping on the acelerator not looking at the tach, and bounced off red line, then I let off.

You bounced off the rev-limiter. No harm done. The computer wouldn't let you actually OVER-rev.
Now downshifting over-revving... there's no protection and you're screwed. But going up, not a problem.
