Ouch, I think it's just cosmetic though!

 

I also over revved my engine. The result, the top of one of the valves on the fourth cyclinder was sheared off. The check engine light came on immediately. It is fixed. I think if your car is running fine, then no harm is done. Care to tell us how you over revved the engine?

 

If you overreved normally, ie just step on the gas till you past the redline, that is fine because there is fuel cut off to prevent harm done to the engine. However, if you overrev because you downshifted from a higher to lower gear there may be potential damage.

 

Ummm... I think he was pulling our collective crank(shaft)s...

 

I KNEW our babies had a lot of power...we can even open space/time portals with them
