I saw the tech flashing red and immediately I push the clutch and put it back to 6th.. Am I gonna be oK? or should I go see the mech?? any help/suggestion is welcome! btw my car seems fine

Bull crap. Cracked retainers can go undetected for 10-20k plus miles.

You sure you didn't over rev to 2nd? Seems slow for 4th to over rev....

Pull the valve cover and do an inspection!!!!
Good analysis but it doesn't even apply in this case.

we all can argue all day or go google "gear calculator" in 5 seconds flat

in this case, there's nothing to worry about(if the info given was correct)

why are you asking us? its your car you should know if its broken or not.

Honda shoulda made this engine a non interference so that overrevd wont be that much of a big deal( not for long period of time).

I never herd of overreving issue on the mr2 forums (aw11 and sw20)they are non interference. but on s2k forums, tons

Leave earlier for your meeting next time and you won't have a problem.

it wont travel to 11K RPM immediately. you probally let off right when it got up to redline so your probably ok.

cracked retainer(esp on ap1) are tough to spot, not all mechanical overrev are instant.(like someone mentioned before)

but like i said, 90 in 4th according to gear cal is not even redline

honda should made this engine with twin entry turbo, turn it sideway and put it behind the driver's seat, but again, you can get a mr2 for that
