Default Overreving issues

Ok i just read a bunch of overrev threads in this forum. And i really really dont mean to sound like a smart ass or a know it all kinda perosn but anwser me this... In ever thread i read each of the owners notice something wrong, and then they proceed to take their s2000 and hit vtec or go to high/redline rpm range. Now if you suspect something wrong with your motor...WHY THE F*** WOULD YOU DO THAT FOR?!?!?!?!?!?!!? HAVE SOME GODDAMN COMMON SENSE, IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR VALVES OR THE BEARINGS, GOING TO HIGH RPMS WILL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE! Jesus christ have mercy on these poor poor S2Ks.

Bro if you have done damage to the valve train it dosen't matter what
RPM you drive the car at it will get worse. And you might not notice any
drive issues with out being in V-tech.

People do that to see if it is still working ;p

Most of the time they 'blackout' and don't realise what happened... Or aren't sure what happened ;p

Not trying to disrespect anyone at all. But if you buy an S2000, a car which I have an extreme passion for, the least you could do is make some sound judgments and pullover and kill the engine after overreving or when you think something is wrong. Check spark plugs, do compression check, check oil, check coolant, take off valve cover and look at valves, take to dealer or s2000 friendly race shop, or hell you can just hit 8k rpms and find out real quick if theres anything wrong. Say theres a slightly bent valve, go run the car hard and it will be an extremly broken valve, go to dealer and replace a valve or 2 with no other major damage. its a matter of 2000 or 9000 dollars. Disrespecting people is not what im about, and even if im only a 4 day old s2ki.com member doesnt mean i only 4 days worth of knowledge buddy.

Not everyone has the knowledge, time, or money to do all that stuff...

Did you just say that you should take it to 8k rpms to check if it works? You contradict yourself ;p
