Question Ow, ow ow ow

Well, even after reading the numerous sigs with pictures of suntanned stick figures I didn't think about putting on any sunblock before I hopped in the car today.

I drove down to school (4 hour drive, Chicago, IL to Bloomington, IN) in the middle of the day today.

The drive was fantastic, top and windows down the whole way, but the sunburn I now have is quite horrible. It's all over my face/scalp and some nice farmer tan ont he arms. even a nice patch on my chest where the buttons of my shirt were open.

Oh well, you live, you learn.

Tomorrow I'm buying a thing of suntan lotion to leave in the secret compartment.

There's really no mistaking what I have as a tan. Definetely a full-on burn.

Oh well, fair skin be damned!

I did the same thing on the way to the Freshwater Tour 2004. Drove from NW Chicago to Holland Michigan with the top down and was BRIGHT red the whole weekend.

I always keep a hat in my car. Doubles as a shifter cover when you are not in the car, so it does not burn the crap outta your hand later.

I keep a pair of hats in the car; one for me and one for the passenger. The idea of keeping a hat over the shifter is a great idea

A word of advice on the sunburn: get some 100% Aloe Vera from the grocery store, it will get rid of most of the pain, but the tan will go away ASAP. (Word of advice from a fair skinned boy in Florida ) Don't have any ideas about the scalp, aloe would be a bit sticky in the hair

If you can tan (not irish ) Aloe will turn burn to tan in a few days. Must apply every few hours, but works like a charm. If it starts to look like it is beginning to peel, give it up, it will peel regardless.

This coming from a former Life Guard....it WORKS!

That may work for direct sunlight, but I can vouch that if it's just plain hot, the shifter is gonna get hot regardless.

Very true, and it even works if you are Irish.
