Started the paint on my Airwalker lip and decided to switch paint jobbers. The owner requested my paint code as usual, but also asked for my vin. Apparently the Vin's 12th (I think, I don't remember well) digit helps narrow down the code? He said the code plus the T specified more red in the Spa Yellow. The match turned out quite well. Anyone else hear of this. My last jobber never asked for this, and the Pearl White on my Prelude was never even close with 3 different suppliers.

 

Your second painter was on crack. The VIN tells you nothing about the paint code. The entire paint code is on the sticker on the driver's door jamb.
