Default Painted Calipers...

Pet project I am about to start involves painting the calipers on my S. Is there any prep involved prior to painting? What brand of paint does one recommend? Does anyone recommend sealing the paint once applied?

Thanks in advance.

Your going to get slammed for not searching........

1. Prepping is preference.....you can dremel it smooth or leave it. Just make sure you clean them.

2. Use G2 caliper paint, it's got good reviews from the members. You can use other high temp paint but it's not as durable or as thick.

The best finish will come from taking the time to prep.

At least dremel off the seams/castings, and you'll be much happier in the long run.

I only use the G2 kits and have had lots of happy clients. Click on the link in my sig to see more!

I found great success with the duplicolor kit you can find at any Advance, Autozone or Pep Girls. Used three coats and got the stickers from decal girl. Looks every bit as good as a G2 kit but was only like 15 bucks. As far as prep, remove anything loose with a wire brush and hose em down with brake clean (provided in the kit) . No "sealing" is necessary.
