Had the same problem because I started a new job and no longer have a garage at work. I bought a cover which I use everyday and it really helps.

Covercraft cover made from Weathershield material.

Folds up compact, UV and Water-resistent.

About $200.

I use mine everyday.

Outdoors for me as well. My house has a two car garage, with 5 cars currently...I get booted as i have to share space with a NSX (92), M3 (97 for sale), and a new 330xi conv. I like coming to work, as its a secure covered parking garage. So at least its protected from the nasty summer sun.

Actually the car cover makes the car disappear, and protects from dings and UV damage.

I parked in one of the highest theft areas in San Diego (Fashion Valley Mall) - always covered the car - and NEVER had a problem. Even when the Civic 2 spaces down had the window busted and radio taken. The security guards didn't even know what kind of car was under the cover and had to come watch when I took it off!

No, the cover doesn't really stick out in the crowd. Alot of people think it is a beater that is being stored. Others never even notice the car, and you know that if the cover was off - they would notice our S!!!!

As for the dust concern.........get a California Duster. If you uncover the car at home and drive to work (unless its something like 100 miles) you don't need to dust the car before covering it again. The duster is EM charged to pull the dust particles off the paint and not scratch the car.

I have been covering my car for 2 years and have one of the nicest looking S2Ks down here - with 67k+ miles.

Enjoy,
Hockey
