Default Are parts getting better and cheaper?

I have owned my S2K for about a year and a half now. After buying it I quickly bought a CT SC because I was able to get a decent deal online. I have always joked around with one of my buddies who has a DSM because most parts will cost 1/3 less for his car new even though they are almost exact same parts (and their used has an even greater spread). But recently I have seemed to notice used parts becoming vary reasonable. I see Greddy emanage piggy backs with harnessing going for just over $300. When I had looked at one a year ago they were around $500. Other used parts are becoming less expensive also. The best turbo and SC kits IMO have also just came out in the last year. It all seems odd to me since the car isn't in production anymore. Either way it is great for me being the owner as I am now able to buy 1,000s of $ worth of mods for a fraction of the price. I just wanted to comment on what seems to be a large shift in price, quality, and availably of parts for a relatively rare car that is out of production.

New prices haven't changed

The only reason for dwindling used prices is because of the economy. [Used] buyers don't want to spend the money, and [Used] sellers are needing (versus wanting) to dump things for cash faster and faster. If I had a nickel for every FS thread that said "need to sell quick for bills" I'd be rich. Yay for economic hardships!!!

Add to the fact that many parts on the used market are now used for a longer period of time which also means lower prices and forces sellers of newer parts to drop their prices a bit to remain competitive. At least this is what makes sense to me.

I don't know what prices are doing but...

Save when times are good and spend when times are bad. Everything is on sale!

I do see a general lowering of used prices. New, not so much.

I was also considering a CT or Vortech SC used, but the stuff that's come out recently is better. I went ahead and got a new SOS SC, but agree the used SCs are a deal...provided you can find one that's actually complete.
