Default Pass Airbag Cover on '02

Has anyone noticed if their airbag cover doesn't match the rest of the dash on a black interior 2002? It looks like the airbag cover is darker as if it were off an '00-'01 model. The difference is pretty obvious.

Someone probably forgot to let the airbag manufacturer know about the interior color change. Feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

It doesn't fully match even in the prior years. It particularly does not match if the interior has been dressed with Armor all or similar protectants - the plastics absorb the stuff differently.

I haven't touched the dash with cleaners/protectant. The difference is pretty significant. It is like a gloss black airbag cover versus a flat charcoal grey dash. Doesn't look right. Anyone approached the dealers about their mismatch???

Thanks,

I have noticed that the airbag cover on both my MY 2000 and 2001 are like that as well. That is they would pick up the gloss of any vinyl protectant much more so than the rest of the dash.

Hey TJ Stooker,

Mine doesn't match either.
Different finish - the dash is like a brushed satin like finish and the airbag cover is a glossy finish. Different plastics.

Maybe if I let a bunch of dust collect on the dash it will match

Oh - and for those that claim a perfect match - I'm guessing that you're not as "detail oriented" as Mr. TJ Stooker.
