Default Passenger SRS defeat button?

Hi guys,

I am looking to purchase a used S2000, but needed to find out if there is a switch to turn off the passenger side air bags.

Thanks for your help.

Tony

See the airbag thread in my signature, Tony. It's a long, convoluted story. Diabolone's answer is correct, although the brand new MY06 model has a smart airbag.

Chazmo,

Thanks for the link.

I was told you can disconnect the SRS plug on an NSX and place a resistor inline to fool the CPU. Do you think this would work on the S2000?

Thanks again.

AFAIK, that's pretty much how the airbag on/off switches work, Tony. In any case, it's inadvisable to permanently defeat the bag... You want it working properly when an adult passenger is riding with you. Well, at least, I assume that's what you want.

If you wanna go down this route and avoid the NHTSA and Honda interaction, you might as well look for an aftermarket switch and install that. Otherwise, contact Honda.
