Has anyone mounted a Passport 8500 in the S2K? Did you mutilate the power cord to run power? Looking for ideas from those of you with experience with this device.

Chris,
I haven't received my Passport yet, it is on the way. Is the power cord connector to the detector the same as a phone line connector?

the 8500 is great you won't be disappointed, I had my first cop come up behind me this week, I picked him up long before he could ever see me. The Ka range is excellent.

I've got a 8500 but I just deal with the cord stretching across the car. The connection to the detector looks like a snap in phone cord. Escort makes a Smart Cord - Direct Wire for $29.95 and a regular Direct Wire for $10.00

Hi Big Al

The Passport 8.5K is very good. I have a Bel 9x0 something in my Legend which I think is just as good. Here's the Passport

I have the hardwire kit, but don't think I'm going to do it.
