I went to have my oil changed today. They said my PCV valve was clogged and needed to be replaced. I have the car for 10 months of ownership and at 23K miles. Is the PVC valve clogging normal? Also the mechanic said that my transmission fluid should be changed at every 25K miles and at the next oil change I should put in new transmission fluid. Is this normal?

Just my 2 cents, but I follow the maintenance schedule in your manual.

Did you go to a Jiffy Lube or similar? They are always trying to get you to change stuff prematurely. Just trying to make extra $$$$.

Yeah I went to a place like jiffy lube. I also need an inspection sticker and they said they don't do inspection stickers (never heard of a quick lube place that doesn't do inspection stickers) so I will have to find somewhere else to go.

I am sure the transmission fluid is ok because I had it repalced at 8404 miles (my 5th gear bearing was defective, so Honda gave me all new bearings).
