Default Perfect day to share the S with my son

Adam, my 9 year old, and I got up early this morning. By 8:30 we were out washing and waxing the S. We did a real good job. Adam was a great help.

We also did our TL and our 4Runner. By about 4:30 we were finished.

We got into the S and took a 30 mile drive to no where. We had the top down and the cd player on loud. For those 30 miles Adam and I were in S2000 heaven.

What a perfect way to spend a day together. We both had a great time.

Who says the S isn't a "family" car? We spend lots of time together with it.

Thanks for this story, Rob.

You know, those days where a son who spends time with his dad doing "car stuff", it's those days that as a kid, we never forget. At the time, it may seem insignificant, but really- it becomes so important as we get older.

Some of my best moments with my dad were helping him wash and detail his '65 Chevelle, and hanging out with him fixing cars. I was 5 or 6, younger than your son is now, but I have never forgotten those days. I cherish those memories. Thanks again for bringing them back.

A little off topic, but.....

What your kids will remember is both surprising and amazing. My daughters are both adults in their 30s with kids of their own. It constantly astounds me when they bring up some moment from when they were kids that was so unimportant to me that I never remembered it.

So take these opportunities and cherish them. And whenever you're with your kids, act as though they're going to remember it in detail....because they just might.

Ain't it funny how kids react to this car. My 10 year old son Ben could hardly wait to get our new S2000. When we got it he got bored, but my 12 year old daughter Anna fell in love with it and is my new copilot. We go for breakfast, Sonic and drives whenever we can.
She can hardly wait to get her license to drive it (fat chance)
I haven't made a big deal out of the car, but it really makes the drive to wherever alot
more fun.
