Found this Rapid Velocity Performance Chip on ebay. Anybody know about this? Too risky? Does it work? Thoughts?

Dude, you'd have to get a cold air intake, Mugen headers, test pipe, 70mm exhaust, and a professionaly tuned AEM EMS to get that kind of gain. And it'd cost you a few thousand in the process.

Besides, don't most car manufactuers tune their vehicles a little on the rich side? Isn't that why a CAI gives such noticable gains (in most engines), because it leans out the mixture? I don't know... but anyhow, that box is crap. Don't waste your money.

I like how it fits 00-05' s2k's even though they have different engines.

What's even more interesting is that the same model # (Honda HO9558) also fits '03-'06 Honda Elements.

...

On the other hand, since this thing connects to the ECU, I'm not surprised that different engines may have identical ECU interfaces.

...

According to google, this thing is basically a resistor that is connected to intake air temperature sensor in order to trick the engine into thinking that the air is cooler than it is. ECU thinks that the air is denser than it is ( cooler air is denser ) -> it adds more fuel -> richer mix. The $64,000 question is, does it actually improve horsepower?

When I first installed my ultimate emange it was sending the ecu low signals for intake air temp. It was majorly rich most of the time. The only positive I saw was it no longer saw the heat soak and wouldn't bog after sitting. My ecu was seeing temps of 14-28'F all the time.

Don't waste your money on this. It will probably do more harm than good.
