don't know how much i'm helping you out...
but...
my comp came w/photoshop delux home edition
and i have photoshop 6.0 or something.
the 6.0 is for professional use and i have NO idea how the hell to create something cool with it...
if you've never used it before, i'm not too sure how well you'd do on your first time...
you might be able to play w/the backgrounds and what not,
but some people on this board can make you believe they stole your car and drove into the side of a house...
MAD PROPS TO THEM!
ALL these packages have one thing in common. They are not easy to get into. If you're really interested, the best advice I can give you is to try something like Paint Shop Pro7 which you can download for free fom the Jasc software site. Photoshop is a very professional package, very expensive and heavy on system resources. You can do pretty well anything in Paint Shop Pro that you can do in Photoshop.
Perseverance is the name of the game! Do the tutorial assignments and try to understand the function of each tool at your disposal. Don't be beaten! Good luck.
Here's some examples of stuff I get asked to do all the time.
Great work! I've been using PSP for years, but I am not quite to that level yet. Did you use PSP for those or PS? I wish there were a good PSP reference that covered more complex operations. The one book I've seen seemed more aimed at the novice or near novice. Lots more available for PS in the book stores.
