Picking Lines in Mountain Twisties
I find myself having to move and look forward or back of the A-pillar to track my line in tight left turns. It seems quite awkward. Just wondering if others have some techniques in tight corners that allow you to stay tightly planted in the drivers seat while cornering. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
Take your car to one of our great track days, learn how the car points around turns on the track, then go back in the canyons and try it. I don't seem to recall this being a problem on the twisties, but it's been a couple of months since I've been out canyon driving.
If you've never driven on a track - you gotta! Check out www.speedventures.net for some upcoming dates - or read the "racing and competition" forum. Good luck!

I've noticed the windsheild pillar being in the way on tight left turns in the mountains. I just move my head forward or back as necessary to see what I need to see and otherwise don't worry about it. It is usually on the 20 mph really tight turns that this is an issue, which is a pretty rare condition on race tracks.
As for gfacter's motorcycle comment, I don't have any problem at all with windshield pillars being in the way when I'm riding my Ducati.
