Pics & Comparison on Cusco and Comptech Strut bar installation.
Finally after about 2monthes of grueling wait my Cusco front and rear strut bars have arrived.
It is very inexpensive and doesn't interfere with the airbox cover, so if you are looking for an alternative to Comptech's, this is it.
Cusco bar design is very simple and elegant but it seems that Comptech still wins in the aesthetic department.
Here is the pic of Comptech's strut bar installed before.
Cusco strut bar ready to replace Comptech's
Cusco strut bar installed, pretty good.
Now for the hood closing test, passed!
Close-up on left side, hehe, now the brace matches color with the oil filter.
Close-up on the right side, there seem to be more stress on the cable, hmm..
Well, what can I say? I like it. No problem with compatibility issue with Jap and US model S2000.
Comptech has certainly great looking strut bar but it can be nuisance, such as airbox interference(I guess fixed) and hood closure and finally 2nd nuts on each side are pretty hard to reach to tightened or untightened and also higher price, $200-$260.
My new Cusco strut price? $155 and no problem with the installation except the right side where the cable is little pinched.
You can say how can I be sure if Cusco doesn't have the clearance problem with the airbox. I've checked some pictures and I can for sure say that it will not interfere.
As proven by many members, strut bar does help and recommended. If you are looking for a really good and inexpensive and alternative to Comptech's as well as other strut bars, look no further and get the Cusco strut bar.
I got it from http://www.alamomotorsports.com
If you are interested give Troy a call and he will help you.

I also got the matching Cusco rear strut bar, same price.
This would be totally for the look since we already have it in our cars.
I haven't installed it but it is very easy and when I do have time I will install it with some pictures.
Also I promise I will take more pics of the front Cusco strut bar when I get a chance.
Now, I am really sorry that I forgot the person who was first in line to purchase my Comptech strut bar.
If you are reading this, please contact me asap.

the reason is simple. What the header tape does is insulate the pipes, thereby cooling the engine compartment and keeping the pipes optimally hot- getting the most exhaust flow.
Yet, almost all companies will not warranty their headers if they are wrapped, due to the retention of water, moisture, etc., making them more prone to rusting out.
However, that is the beauty of jet-hot and other "ceramic coated" headers, they are warrantied and insulated from the factory, so there is no need to wrap the headers.
Class dismissed.
