Pics of Comptech air filter
Are you saying that you installed the Comptech air filter and removed the K&N filter and that the throttle response is better with the Comptech than with the K&N?
Would you have to make the same modification to the airbox for the Comptech as for the K&N - or does it fit perfectly into the stock airbox?
Anybody dyno it? I'm curious to see if it gives the same results as the K&N.

I had already cut out the plastic even when I got the car with the stock air box,because that flat piece is blocking the fresh air from getting into the intake,but no you do not have to cut the stock box in order to fit the Comptech air filter it is a direct drop in replacement it took minutes to install,and the Comptech filter is reusable and washable.
