Default Pics of parking and turn signal LED bulbs

Well I finally got a chance to clear my headlights a few weekends ago, but I was not prepared for how bad the lights looked with the amber bulbs. I found a place online that carried both the 168 and 7440 LED bulbs. They are both made my APC.

Here are some pics.

Were these a direct plug in or did you need to modify the sockets? How much? Can you post the link to their site please? The pics don't do it justice but do they shine very amber (yellow) when lit?

Are they DOT approved? I don't believe in LED marker bulbs, because their light pattern is usually only about 30

That is what I was thinking. I had a pair of red LED bulbs for the rear turn signals and they were way too dim since none of the light hit the reflector to make it shine. Also, since they drew so little voltage, the relay would think that the bulb was burned out and it would blink at triple the speed. Made it look like those ricer speed blinkers..

Also, is the turn signal clearly visible during the day?

Everything was a direct plug in. No modifications at all. The lower mini wedge bulb shines kinda yellow, but the turn indicator is very bright.

I purchased the 7440 bulbs from http://www.xtremewhite.com/ACCBU-Accessori...1-1-1-ptech.cfm

and the 168 mini wedge bulbs I purchased from http://shop.store.yahoo.com/streetbeatcust...ilcorandot.html

The light reflects off pretty well, I was impressed myself. I will try to get some better pics soon.

When I was installing the bulbs I used the hazards to test the bulbs and didn't even bother to try the actual turn indicator. Well today was OK for me to take the car out and too my surprise they DO blink fast! I'm not too upset about it, but it's more of an annoyance than anything else.

Just to update they do blink fast.

You have to put a resistor inline to make it blink normal.
Bobatimez did this to his TL. Blinks normal now.

I noticed that they also have an application for the tail lamps, 7443. I am still a bit skeptical since I did have a pair of red LED bulbs for my last car and they didn't pan out so well. But orange LED's are brighter on average so they may work better.

Socal, what kind of resistor (how many ohms) did you friend install to have the blinker work normally?
