I also recently purchased a Chase/Race trailer hitch for mine. Very well made, a relatively easy bolt up install. The $450 shipped price was a bit steep but I realise that Dave Chase isn't selling enough of these to justify going into full blown production.
Doug Chase.

Sweet setup!!!!. I too am thinking about upgrading to R comps and don't want to have a tow rig. How long does it realistically take to unbolt the hitch from the car at the track?
Jack the car up by the diff, unbolt three pins, take off hitch, done. Takes about 5min.

Also did you install yourself and if you did how long did it take?
I had my shop install it for me, since I had to get my car serviced anyway...

Looks like a good setup. Anyone know, for the tire tail, how wide the tires can be? Would I be able to fit 4 245's on stock AP1 wheels (thats the widest I would ever think of going).
I'm pretty sure you can fit 4 245's...

Yeah, but Hammerly stopped making them, which is where the Chase hitch came from. It's more or less a re-engineered version of the Hammerly.
That's correct.

Pretty easy to do it without jacking the car up at all. Jacking does make it a lot easier to re-install, though. Also, wear leather gloves if the exhaust is hot.

I found that it's easier remove the hitch if you jack up your car...especially since mine is "lowered" due to my coilovers... Only adds about 30 seconds to the process.

2 more pics...this time with 4 wheels.

OEM rims with 225/17 and 255/17 tires. Fits perfectly. Plenty of room for larger rims.

A quick question for the hitch guys...

What is the MAX weight the S2000 can tow with the Chase/DaLan Hitch? I'm thinking about towing my bike to the track...

Bike (430lbs wet) + Uhaul Motorcycle Trailer (550lbs) = Approximately 1000lbs.

Is that way too much weight for the S???

1000 pounds is about 40% of the car's weight. I'd be really cautious about that. I'm pretty sure the car and the hitch can handle it, in a static sense, but it's the dynamic loads that are the problem.

Even hauling a tire trailer, I drive a lot more tentatively, keeping the speeds way down on corners, trying to anticipate and reduce braking and acceleration forces, etc.

People have towed bikes on trailers with the S2000, and they have towed heavier loads as well. But your safety margin is decreased, and you have to realize that and compensate for it.

I've thought the same thing...the tires cover up the rear license plate.

But since I only track my car once in a while, I figure my chances of avoiding a ticket is good...
