All you guys with this alignment problem, have you been riding over curbs or something?? Never heard of it before

Stop going to the dealership for an alignment, they are barely competent enough to start the car. Find a good alignment shop (not Firestone) by asking people in the local forums. I've had the same alignment for over a year, and it's been fine. I track my car, and I drive on some of the shittiest roads in the world, los angeels.

 

If you have a mechanical problem that can't be fixed on a new car, you have a lemon law situation. Find out what the lemon law is in your state. Contact an attorney who specializes in this. They shouldn't want any money from you but collect when they win. Every State is different. The things you are requesting are minor remedies, however. In some States they may have to pay you three times the cost of the car as penalty.

 

I had alignment problems when I first bought my car. I had Honda align it 3-4 times. The steering felt "dead" and the steering wheel didn't come back to center very easily. I brought it to a good alignment shop and there wasn't an issue after that.

Make sure you sit in the car when aligning it. The cornered weight difference is a factor, AND GET A PRINTOUT of the before and after. Assuming they torqued things correctly, you should be all set. If the car goes out of alignment then, look at suspension damage and tires.

 

I had my S2000 aligned to my specs. Make sure you take it to a reputable alignment shop that has the latest computerized equipment. Be present while they do the job! Ask to sit in the drivers seat as it is being done. This will give you proper weight distribution and you can judge where the center line of the steering wheel should be when holding it at 3 and 9 o'clock. If they give you some bs that's it's against their shop rules for insurance purposes, then go some where else. Are you a heavy set person?
As I had my alignment set for autox the technician would tell me that my camber settings where out of Honda's specs. It didn't really matter, though, since I knew what to expect. The car drives fine on the street but you have to really be in control of the steering wheel when driving on roads with deep ruts from the heavy trucks or it will literally get yanked from your grip.
Through all this I never had the pulling one way or the other.

A perfectly aligned car WILL pull to the right (providing you dont live in japan or england) because of road crown. All roads are convex to assist draining during wet weather. Just a factor to consider.

To test, find a non-busy street (one way street would be best) and drive in the opposite lane. It should pull left.

 

Oh that just is great!

What next? Your interior is worn? and you want the dealership to buy back your car?

Now to the poster. Take your car to NTB. They have an alignment machine. Get it done. Drive it then come back and tell us whats up.

BTW, make sure to check your tire pressure. Also, as someone else mentioned, if you have damaged your steering column then you are looking at totally different issue.

HONDA does not owe you jack sheit btw.

 

Well, just a moment here. My '01 s2k has the best "on center" steering that I have ever experienced. If the road crowns to one way or another, one can feel it, but it is not a "pull." I can only hope that all the cars I buy in the future have the steering feel of this one. I rejected a Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG because it didn't steer or handle like my sa2ka!

If someone's sa2ka is actually "pulling" to the right or left, there IS something wrong with it. If someone's sa2ka is really "pulling" there is a defect involved. I am not enough of a tech to say what it is. But the "straight ahead", on center handling of the sa2ka is one of its hallmarks. Any one of them that is not living up to this standard is defective.
