Planning to buy a S2000 this week! Suggestion?
Guys,
I am planning to get a 2005 s2000 this week, and i have a few things in mind!?
I run the carfax on the S2000 that i am planning to get this week, but it said it was in accident before, like once..... so no clean carfax?? They are selling the 05 S2000 for 19,500 for a 25k miles car.... Isn' t that too cheap for a S..??
REally need your guys advice...
Thanks

That's a really cheap price for that year with that kind of mileage. I think you should check up on it more before you get in over your head on something like that.
You should take it to a shop and have them check for frame damage. You should also try and find out the details of the accident. You don't want to buy a lemon.

Yup, take it to a trusted body shop first. My 01 had been in an accident, but my body shop said it had had first-rate repair work done so I bought it (with at a negotiated-down price). No problems 1.5 years and 30k miles later.
If it checks out, use it as an opportunity to further drive down the price.
If the car is sound, there's no such thing as "too cheap"! Dealers are getting premium prices on Civics and the like, while less practical/less fuel-efficient cars are suffering (relatively) on dealer lots.
A low asking price doesn't necessarily mean there's trouble, and a HIGH asking price certainly doesn't ensure there's NO trouble!

i would take it to a reputable shop and see what you can find out about the damage. I mean if it was just rear ended and had to have the bumper replaced then no big in my book, but anything too serious and i woud look for a different one.

Is the car at a dealer or private party sale? If it is private party, that price is not out of line for the year & milage. It is a bit cheap for a dealer though but not too far out of line given the economy and low demand for sports cars.
