Default Planning on buying this car today but...

Sup guys, does anyone recognize this car and know any history on it? The entire rear end was resprayed and did a terrible job so I passed on the deal. However, the dealership sent it out to get color sanded and they said it resolved all issues. Im very leary now knowing that the back end was resprayed yet the carfax shows no accidents/clean title. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

That price is $3000-$4000 too high for something that's been resprayed.

As for the car itself, there is a chance that the paint was damaged in a non-collision accident. In that case, all of the structurals would be fine, but the paint would need refinishing. It's worth asking some questions about, but only if you can get that price down.

Thanks deepbluejh! I was definitely planning on using that as leverage to bring the price down. I had already got them down to 16500 plus tax and dmv prior to going out there the first time. Now I am gonna try and talk them down another couple of grand.

Fender flares and too high a price. Rear quarter panel work is hard to reverse. I would look elsewhere.

I didn't even notice the body work!

In that case, the fender flares are almost surely the cause of the back needing respraying. I would imagine structurally the car is fine.

That said, fender flares, along with that front lip just scream rice. I wouldn't pay more than $14k for this car.

LOL..yup, and that is what the dealership said why the rear was resprayed. The orange peel matched the texture on the flares and the entire rear end. Glad to hear your opinion on the flares and the lip, I'm starting to shy away from even buying this. BTW, i checked out the suspension and it appeared to be Ebay coils with Swift springs.

There is no such thing as eBay coils.. Coils+ springs doesn't make any sense.

Who ever owned it before took the ebay springs that came with the coil over kit and replaced them with Swift springs

I don't know why carfax isn't showing anything but back in 05/01/2005 this car had an accident.
