planning on purchasing
im planning on purchasing a black on black 2004 s2000 at the end of december, but i was wondering i have to call in or anything prior to that day, or can i just drive in and pick one up? can i have ur opinions or anything on what i have to do. thanks
If you're going to buy at the end of December, it sounds like you're planning to take advantage of what is typically thought to be a slow time for automobile dealerships, and hopefully negotiate a favorable price. I've heard pricing in the Bay Area is lousy, so you may need the advantage.
I think you should decide what you're willing to pay, prepare your finances completely so that you are ready to close the deal within a couple hours, and then go shopping in the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. If you have a trade in, figure out what you will accept for it. Prepare everything.
Some dealers have websites which display their stock of new vehicles, so you might save yourself some time by locating which dealers have a MY04 in black. Otherwise, the dealers will try to sell you whatever color they have, which can be a PITA... or they will offer to have a car traded with another dealer for you, and I don't care for that idea either. It means some gopher is going to put an additional 30 miles on your car before you even see it.
You can identify all the honda dealers in your area by using the "Locate Dealers" database on the http://www.hondacars.com website. I would also recommend that you read http://www.carbuyingtips.com to avoid dumb mistakes.
