The plastic rear window is way too soft
I'm so pissed. I've been real anal about my rear window and it had paid off -- not one scratch. On Saturday I decided to polish/and protect it with Plexus. Using a flannel cloth, I rubbed gently after apply Plexus. The outside seemed fine but when I repeated the process on the inside I ended up with whole series of hairline scratches. Either the cloth was dirty or it wasn't soft enough. Is there anyway of removing these or do I have to live with it?
Fine scratches can be removed/minimized thorugh the use of any number of excellent products for this purpose, such as Meguires #17, Honda Metal Polish (for Gold Wing plastic windshields) and a product from 3M (but I can't remember the name). Several quite visible scratches on my rear window have been quite satisfactorily treated with Meguires #17 followed by Plexus. And yes, it is very important for the cloth that you are using to be clean.
