Sorry my post was so dissapointing.
Spend $800 and toss a perfectly good top doesn't sound too smart either.
Oh well, as Susie O. would say, "If you got the money your approved."

Dude who said anything about throwing away a perfectly good soft top??? Unless there are any cuts in the material itself then just replace the rear plastic window and your good to go.... Go to hardtopguy.com and look up a replacement rear plastic window, they are about 200.00. Dont post if you dont know what your talking about. :pat:

If your going to :pat: somebody and tell them you dont know what they are talking then make sure YOU know what YOUR talking about. The replacement window is 200.00, but the entire soft top assembly with glass is 800, thats what he was referring to when getting a new soft top for 800 and throwing away his current one...

^ Ok done arguing. The most logical fix for this IMO is the rear plastic window period. 200.00 vs 800.00

Dont forget the labor involved in removing and installing a rear plastic window, it doesnt just zip out like you said in your previous post. It will be an expensive fix if you cant do it yourself. For 800 you get a brand new top and a rear window so you wont tear the plastic window again, and a soft top is usually something you have to replace after X amount of years. Installing the entire soft top assembly is actually much much easier than just replacing the rear plastic window.

No.
Bailing wire works pretty good.
Your approved also.
Fix the top then get a hardtop, problem solved.
Better yet ,if your not totally into convertables, remove the softop and all hardware and get a hardtop or if moneys no problem ,get a new soft-top (glass this time) and a new hardtop.

If you own an s2k and cant afford to spend that much money to get something done the right way then you have the wrong car. The s2k is an expensive car to maintain.

If you can't install the plastic window yourself you probably can't install the entire top yourself... So to save money do just the window. This isn't that ****ing hard, now let's debate some more about it...

Well I've got two cars counting the S and both paid for.
I think I might just get by if I'm really really carful with my money.
