I'm an old guy. I've been around for a while. But no, I don't know everything and I'm still learning stuff from this forum all the time.
Ask me about fuel mapping. I know nothing about fuel mapping.

This might offer some help to those with windows that need restoration:

If you used these (Maquiar's and Plexus) and did not get good results, then you did not spend enough time and "elbow grease" at it or you didn't use the product correctly. My window went through a whole winter having snow brushed off that window and after using the plastic polish (in several applications and actually "polishing" the plastic) and then a couple of goes with Plexus, my window came out looking like new. Then I put covered it with Cling Tint. Nearly 4 years later, and the rear window is still in great shape.

Here's my "How To" thread on this:

In most cases, I would agree with you, however, not this time. I bought MY01 in 2003. Previous owner "Never" cleaned the window. There is some sort of baked in sap or melted plastic (not scratches). The previous owner lived in So. Cal, the same area I live in (101-108) degrees every day on the summer. What ever happened to it, was permanent.

Meguires and plexus help, but will never solve my issue.

Ah, well, you're case is different. The polish doesn't make compensations for foreign matter damaging the plastic. That's not what it was designed to do. So in this sense, you aren't really disagreeing with me as what I said is based upon the natural wear process and yellowing phenomenon associated with aging and UV exposure. You are looking at a whole other "restoration" process.
