PLEASE HELP!?...jdm HID'S are higher to the left??
I have just recently installed my JDM headlights and one thing i've notice was that the beam line was higher to the left than the right...I personally believe that is normal because in japan they drive on the right side and the beam on the right side should be lower than the left, but I encountered one problem tho...for some reason the s2k's HID is known for the bad-ss color change, BUT on the jdm only like the right side light bounces and changes color. IS THIS NORMAL ON THE JDM HEADLIGHTS?? OR DID I GET A DEFECTED ONE BECAUSE THE JDM HEADLIGHTS I GOT FOR THE LEFT SIDE JUST CAME IN BUBBLE WRAP AND THE RIGHT SIDE CAME WITH ALL THE SPECIFIC PACKAGING...THANKS!

Tommy

As for the left beam being higher than the right, this should have been no surprise. This is the way it should be and that's why getting JDM lights for a N. American car can be a bit of a hassle. As for the lights being different in their light appearance, I'm guessing something is wrong. They should both be the same.
The JDM lights are set up that way since they drive on the other side of the road. The reason is to prevent the lights from blinding oncoming drivers. If you want the look but don't want to blind everyone consider getting EDM lights. If not please don't be annoyed at everyone who flashes their high beams at you.
You know, I keep thinking about this, and I'm wondering why someone hasn't solved this yet...
The difference in level is due to a difference in the mask, right? What is the mask attached to on the housing? If it's part of the lens, can the lenses be swapped between housings? Anyone?

Yes, the headlights for coutries where they drive on the left side of the road are designed to aim away from oncoming driver's eyes. And yes, if you put those headlights in a car being driven on the right side of the road, you will blind oncoming drivers because the headlight beams will be aimed right at them. And since your car comes with HID lights (brighter than regular headlights), there is an even greater chance you will blind oncoming traffic than someone with regular headlights. There are lots of mods that don't make any sense, but this one is stupid and dangerous.
I think you just simply need to adjust your left headlight. Pappy and I cleared our headlights (the oven baking way
) and for some reason both of our left headlights seemed to be shining higher. This not only shot the beam a bit higher but the higher angle also seemed to take away that purple/blue color that the right light still has and that it had before we cleared them. I haven't tried it yet, but from what I know a simple adjustment to a screw will aim it lower thus bringing back that purple/HID color.
Not sure if that makes any sense...

Hey Red Blurr,
You seem to be on the right statement as i am...i did try adjusting the beam on the left but still...for some reason the left one doesnt seem to have any effect whether the beam was adjusted higher or lower...i really ran out of things to do...is this normaL??

I agree with you. It's the angle of the beam and not the light itself. I haven't tried adjusting mine yet, but will give it a try tomorrow and will let you know the results. Maybe there's some kind of spec we can follow in order to find out on what level they should be.
