Hi fellow S2K members,
I'm having problem with my S2K. Ever since I blew my rear driver-side tire, and replacing it(replaced both rear tires), my car is not how it was before. Now I'm running with Pirelli P7000(245/40/17) in the rear. Tire pressure is 34 all around. After the tire change, I got my allignment done. I'm not runnig with x-brace. I lowered my car with eibach. Althouhg I have done all these, when I'm driving 80+ mph, car is very unstable and starts to move as if i'm loosing control. Steering wheel begins to move left and right even if the road condition is fine. It feels like if my car is loosing control in snow. It gets worse when I brake at such speed. Due to this, I don't feel like driving my car any more. It scares me. As mentionewd above, I checked my allignments, checked all the lugs, checked the tire pressures, but cant seem to find the problem. Like I said, I never had this problem before the tire change. Please help me solve the problem and enjoy driving my s2000 again like all of you guys do. .

Thanks in advance

Ty

P.S I used the search function and read ALL the posts(+-50) search found me, but didnt get much help. I've done everything that was posted in the posts and threads.

first off: who sold you P7000's for the S? i've run them previously on a miata, and while they are decent street tires, they are really, really poor substitutes for the S-02's. i assume that you're running the stock s-02's on the front. so now you've summer tires in front and all seasons in the rear.

did you loose control of your vehicle when your tire blew? did the tire shop diagnose the cause of the tire going? are the handling maladies only evident at higher speeds?

Tires are the most important thing for handling on you car.

I would change the rears back to OEM S02's, first. (make sure they are OEM only)

You may want to get a set of winter tires if you are driving in the snow too.

It's the tires, I am running Kumho's on the rear until spring time when I will put the S02's back on. I'm convinced it's the change from OEM to cheap tires that is making this occur.

My car does the exact same thing on the freeway.

Did you take it to a reputable shop? If your tires aren't balanced properly, you will feel a wobble at high speeds. Are they mounted properly? They have to go in the direction of the arrows. I've had tha thappen a few times.

Sounds like tires. Also, I would not have touched stock suspension either.

Thanks everyone for replies. Anyways, I'm running Pirelli P6000(225/45/17) in the front. I never had this problem with my older tires, which was Pirelli P7000. This is driving me nuts!!! Should I just drive it for little more to see what happens(I have +-230 miles on the new rear tires)? Again, thanks in advance.

P.S Tank you Quik S2K for editing the title~~

Have the lug nuts on the rear wheels been properly torqued? If they are loose, you will get a very bad vibration.
