I was linked to this thread by a friend. Which is a thread just posted up on the Bimmerforums. Please take your time on reading the first post and some of the thoughts. This could happend to anyone. And I know there have been a lot of s2000 meets lately and with the big Fall Colors coming up. I don't want to see this happend to any of you guys. Especailly for the past 2 years I have been with this community. I found this to be one of the most closest forum/community there is. Everyone here are true enthusists and enjoy driving our car hard. But please remember your limits here. Drive safe. I can't say more after reading the chilling stories from here.

I had some history of my own in these meets. Where I lost something very valueble to me and everything could have went a lot worse. And I learned on my own mistake. Where I will not take life for granted. And def. not worth putting the risk of putting other's on the line.

Very sad indeed.
This is the reason I dont do group runs. I get invited on bike runs all the time and the times I have gone theres always some folks getting a little cocky including myself. I was invited by someone on this board to a run when I first joined but this again is why I didnt go. We drive machines that cause us to lose our common sense sometimes.

I've only been on a few group drives, but I've already seen enough dumb maneuvers that it's only a matter of time until people are coming here to read another sad story. I really hope I'm wrong, but you only need a quick look through our forums to see all the cars that have spun off the road during group drives.
To stereotype, I believe the collective IQ of a group of us males takes a drop as you gather more of us together. Add fast cars and we sometimes become bloomin' idiots.
I wouldn't like group drives just because I like to go where I want to, stop when I want to and drive the pace I want to. Still, I don't think group drives are the real culprit in these tragedies. One just has to not cave into the group mentality and instead do what's right. Just pull off and let 'em go if you think it's getting out of hand. You can't stop others from dangerous driving but you can choose not to participate.
