I'm a new SilverStone owner that's not in love with the color. I was just looking for the best deal on the best S2K - regardless of color. I think Silvers and Grays are just way too common these days. If I was buying a new one, I would go with Suzuka Blue.
MagicDave, that white on white S2K is sweet. I've always liked that look!
Dude, are you kidding? You got an AWESOME COLOR! Consider this. This is where I'm headed with mine. I saw this picture posted somewhere around here. It's 's2ka' 's car. Note the clear sidemarkers and corners and the gun-metal wheels that bring out the Silverstone in the body. Rgr wheels. If that's not bitchen', then bitchen has no meaning.
That is the best looking Silverstone I've seen IMHO. I'm getting those wheels, man.
Silverstone is the most common because it's the most popular. It's the most popular because it looks the best. Honda got rid of it for '02 and had to bring it back again. Of course Honda is going to start out their revised S2000 with their best color. I wonder what color will be last off the production line.
MagicDave, it's not that I don't like SilverStone. It's just not my favorite. I prefer brighter, stronger, more primary colors. I'm also not thrilled with how common it is.
S2KA's car is sweet though, I have to agree that a monochromatic scheme like this really works well. That's something that works with white, silver, gray, or black, but doesn't really work with the more colorful colors - ever seen a yellow car with yellow rims? Just doesn't look right.
Check out this shot of my 99 Camaro SS in Hugger Orange:
Now that's a color! I only had this car for six months, but man it was a blast. (it's actually more orangy than this photo seems, it's a bad scan.)
I guess I must seem kinda like a show-off, having had an orange car, and wanting cars in bright, uncommon colors - and maybe I do like to show off a little, but only with cars. In "real life" I'm actually pretty shy - so I like to think I'm allowed to have a little extrovert streak in me.
Leave it to me to turn a talk about colors into a philosophical anthropological discourse! lol, sorry!
