Default policy and procedure on Group Buys

Recently, 4igs2000 pulled his group buys on a few of his items. Based on how the board reacted to his initial offering and the subsequent lack of people sending in money, i think we might need to set up some sort of guideline.

If a groupbuy is put out for an item that needs to be created, i believe it is fair to say that in order for you to say you are interested, 50% of the cost needs to be put down as significant interest.

The seller also needs to inform the buyers on the timeframe that it takes to complete the groupbuy/creation of the product.

For example, if everyone who was interested in the harness and paid half for the harness, i am sure 4igs2000 would be able to complete his batch, and not worry about people not purchasing the product.

I was really disappointed in the loss of the two products. I was really interested in obtaining both the shift knob, and the v-afc and the harness. Now i have to go find another harness, maybe at diablo but will never find a shift knob that was being created.

4IGS2000, i hope you will reconsider pulling out and not make the product. Can you tell us what it would take for you to come back in? how much payment is needed to get it back rolling.

It looks like you already purchased the parts, what are you going to do with them if you can't put them together?

I wish you luck.....

Mayan dkhl its people like you that i wish the VAFC/harness went through!!!. I greatly appreciate the support. I have gotten a lot of advise from other board sponsors, i will see what i can do about the shiftknobs, the harness there is no way i can get back into it. The VTEC controllers i might source out and give business to someone who has them instock ready to ship for all those who still want one.

thanks

Our experience has been to never rely on posted intentions. That's why we ask for payment upfront or deposits before we put anything into production. I'm sure people have the best of intentions when they say they want something, but a seller cannot rely on anything without money in hand. There's way to much at risk.
