Default Polished brake Calipers?

Does anyone know if it is possible to polish our brake calipers? I think it would look great, and it would involve no dissassembly of the brake lines. I'm just not certain about the coating on the calipers...or what they are made out of. Iron may rust.

I have a friend who has all the polishing equipment, so the cost would be virtually free.

no, I really don't think they'd be as dirty as you think. My oem pads produce far less brake dust than a lot of cars. I've seen polished calipers...but never heard of them being high maintaince, I'll have to ask some of my buddies who had aftermarket polished aluminum ones.

I just painted my brake calipers red on my Black Accord Coupe and it looks hot. You do not need to take them apart but you do need some patience if you ever wanted to paint yours. You can get special brake caliper paint off the net for about 40 bucks.

The calipers get very hot so cad plating is a good option. Mine were not polished before plating (just ground smooth), but if you get a good finish the cad will shine pretty well. Here are mine before installation.

Very nice. Could I bother you for a post-install picture?

I painted my red CRX-Si's calipers yellow with the good high-temp paint and it was OK. The paint started to discolor from the high heat of track use, so I have been contemplating what to do with the S2000.

Silver looks great!!!
I thought it would look too much like the rotors but the pictures of the Silver S200 are beautiful!!!
