Default Pontiac S2000?

I love car guys and Bob Lutz is one.

Check out new Pontiac 2-seater 240 hp s/c sportscar concept car pictured at Autoweek's web site. Here's the article:

Solstice for all seasons: Pontiac concept goes from drawing room to auto show in four months.

Bob Lutz pulls up in the Pontiac Solstice roadster during the vehicle's unveiling. Those who still need proof that Bob Lutz is revolutionizing General Motors

Lord, but I hate to "register-to-read"...and what a clunky/slow site! Some of that could be my own fault (56K'er & all ) But the Solstice *does* seem to be quite a wicked bolt-together of some of the best of GMs offerings! Will be interesting to see what it becomes...and costs... Thanks for the heads-up.

Gee, it is a good thing it had a Pontiac logo on the front, otherwise I would have thought those were two BMW kidney shape grilles!

Haha, they couldn't do it NA, oh well, getting such a high HP number in a production car, they must be giggling like children.

Kind iffy on the looks of the coupe. I think that the Vauxhaul VX220 would be better suited in the market place as the new Firebird. Somewhere near the Miatas price with nearly S2000 performance that would be sweet. I'm a very big fan of the Opel Speedster/ VX220.

it doesn't look bad, actually quite TVR~ish. But really guys & gals, has Pontiac or any American car manufacturer ever produced a car that is a direct resemblance of their concept cars? This is too concept and too one-off for Pontiac to pull off.

It's basically a Jaguar shape in concept, except for the front end, which IMO is just more of that butt ugly retro stuff.

"the rear-wheel-drive Solstice is built primarily from the GM parts bin" That sure sounds like trouble. There's a ton of crap in that parts bin

Well...one/two...Dodge: Viper & Plymouth: Prowler...what do I win?

Oh yeah...edited after posted...the Chevy SSR -- not yet in production, but Chevy would be foolish to back off after all its advertising now I'd think. BTW, I ain't sayin' I like the SSR (its...different; and its *definitely* Chevy tryin' to cash in on Mopar's retro "wins")...but it is another American car manufacturer that should fit your question.
